Teaching new members to serve others in the church.

One way to encourage your congregation to bring in their friends is to have a “Friend Day” Sunday service. It’s something everyone can do. No soulwinning training is required. It’s as simple as saying, “Our church is having a ‘friend day,’ and I thought of you. Would you be my guest that day?”

Community change only happens through the transforming power of the Gospel. Only Christians with compassion and a willingness to pay the price can make a lasting impact in their neighborhood. If we “pass by” without offering the hope of salvation, who will stop for the lost?

I thought we were doing all we could for the addicted people in our ministry. Our church gave money to the local rescue mission and hosted an occasional special service. Little did I realize how a prodigal son from our church would change the way we helped those chained by their destructive sins and open new opportunities to impact our community.
