Dr. George Crabb is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician who also practices Addiction Medicine. He was born and raised in a pastor’s home and was saved at the age of thirteen. He graduated from Christian school education in 1983 and pursued an undergraduate degree in Biology at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. During his undergraduate studies the Lord called him to preach. He immediately submitted to that call and started serving the Lord with his father who was the Senior Pastor of Antioch Baptist Church in Warren Michigan.
After finishing his undergraduate studies he was accepted in 1986 to Des Moines University—College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines, Iowa. While obtaining his medical degree he continued to remain active in the local church in teaching and preaching the Bible. He obtained his medical degree in 1990 finishing number one in his class out of 185 students.
In 2000, Dr. Crabb was ordained as a Baptist preacher and served bi-vocationally with his father for many years in Michigan. He has been involved with the Reformers Unanimous Recovery Ministry out of Rockford, Illinois for the past several years for which he has authored fifteen books. Dr. Crabb has preached across the nation on the spiritual, psychological, and physical aspects of addiction. While living in Florida he served as a bi-vocational assistant pastor at Gospel Baptist Church in Bonita Springs.
In 2019, Dr. Crabb and his family became members of Lancaster Baptist Church. He currently serves on the faculty of West Coast Baptist College teaching Biblical counseling. He also has an active medical practice in the Lancaster area. He enjoys teaching an adult connection group at Lancaster Baptist Church, traveling the country preaching the Word of God addressing the spiritual, psychological, and physical sides of different issues that many people are confronted with today.
“I do not believe addiction is a disease,” Dr. Crabb says. “The local church is the best ‘group therapy’ an individual can receive.”
Dr. Crabb is a member of the American Society of Addiction Medicine and the American Osteopathic Academy of Addiction Medicine and the Christian Medical Dental Association. He continues to work very closely with RU as their Staff Physician and Medical Advisor.
Dr. Crabb is currently in the process of developing a biblical counseling concentration at West Coast Baptist College. We are so thankful for his influence on the students. His medical expertise and Biblical insight have helped prepare our student body for the diverse needs they will face in their places of ministry.
